1 Transitive and intransitive verbs
Переходные и непереходные глаголы↑ VerbВ английском языке, как и в русском, все глаголы делятся на переходные и непереходные1) Переходными в английском языке являются глаголы, которые могут иметь при себе прямое дополнение, т.е. присоединяемое к глаголу без предлога, например see smb/smth — видеть кого-л./что-л., make smth — делать что-л., influence smb/smth — влиять на кого-л./что-л., help smb — помогать кому-л..2) Непереходными являются все прочие глаголы, в частности, глаголы, которые вообще не могут иметь при себе дополнения (например, sleep — спать, die — умирать), а также глаголы, дополнение которых присоединяется посредством предлога (например, look at smb/smth — смотреть на кого-л./что-л., wait for smb/smth — ждать кого-л./что-л., contend with smb — спорить с кем-л.).3) Как видно из примеров, свойства переходности/непереходности у глаголов с одинаковым значением в английском и русском языках могут не совпадать.English-Russian grammar dictionary > Transitive and intransitive verbs

Нефинитные глагольные формы делятся на инфинитивы (Infinitive), причастия (Participle) и герундий (Gerund). Термин Ing-form является общим термином для герундия (глагольного имени) и причастий, образованных с помощью окончания "-ing".7) Финитные глагольные формы выражают наклонение: изъявительное, сослагательное (см. Subjunctive) и повелительное (см.
